Job Position Description & Responsibilities
We are seeking qualified individuals for the opening of our teaching restaurant Eatery 73 at Austin Community College. Our ideal candidate is kind, positive, and works well with others. They also believe in quality, consistency and working in a clean, organized, and inclusive environment where respect and dignity are prioritized. Front of House Attendant employees are a crucial part of our restaurant operations and are the face of the restaurant’s standard of service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures that all tables are cleared, cleaned, and set for guests to be seated
- Ensures that front of the house dining area tables, chairs, counters, and floors are clean, sanitized, and free of debris during service hours
- Ensures that plates are cleared from vacated tables in a timely fashion and tables are re-set for new guests
- Refill customer beverages and attend to customer requests as needed (replacement silverware, napkins, plates, utensils)
- Restock condiments, small wares, ice, beverages, silverware, napkins, placemats and table settings as needed
- Must maintain safety & sanitation standards in the workplace at all times in accordance with ACC Culinary Department’s policies & procedures
- Performing opening & closing duties as needed
- Operating the POS system and handling transactions accurately
- Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines
Qualifications
- Potential candidates must maintain a positive, energetic & alert demeanor and show a sense of urgency in all hospitality/customer service
- Professional communication skills between the applicant, guests, and co-workers a must
- Must project a well-groomed and professional appearance that is in accordance with ACC Culinary department standards
- Minimum of 1 year prior culinary/hospitality experience in restaurants or lodging FOH capacity
- Must be able to provide references from past employers and agree to an ACC background check
- Prior experience with TOAST POS systems a plus
