Coordinates and assists with planning, developing, communicating, and administering student ESL/HSE programs.Job Description:
Description of Duties and Tasks
Recruits, coordinates, mentors, and schedules substitute instructors to support student success.
Coordinates student notification, class cancellation, and/or teaching coverage in emergency cases.
Works with AE staff to support instructors in maintaining class records,such as class links, progress testing notices, attendance, grading, and registration.
Teaches 1 class per term.
Assists instructors with issues arising in the classroom or with students, and provides solutions with measurable outcomes.
Utilize department, college, and community resources and various technologies to create efficient and effective communications with key stakeholders.
Provide technical assistance to instructors, recruiters/advisors, and students.
Orders and inventories materials including books and instructional supplies.
Works with stakeholders to improve business processes and systems to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of contingent staffing.
Works with the AE Professional Development Team on instructor training, including compliance with grant mandates. Assists with orienting and assigning mentors to new instructors.
Work collaboratively with the college and Austin community agencies to establish and maintain AE classes.
Participate in instructor hiring and onboarding process.
Administrative assistance with class schedule edits as needed.
Other instructional and student support duties as assigned.
Additional Job-Specific Duties
Evaluate instructor needs, and provide feedback and resources for instructor improvement.
Coordinates with others on student enrollment processes including testing, registration, and orientation to meet student demand.
Knowledge
Adult education principles, practices, and theories.
Services and functions of educational institutions, especially Adult Education & Literacy and other ACC programs.
Skills
Strong communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
Commitment to empowering adult learners through literacy, education, and training.
Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
Compiling and organizing complex material, and summarizing information in report form.

Maintaining an established work schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
Technology Skills
Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
Support new instructors in specific Blackboard, Zoom, and WD Timesheet tasks.
May also use social media, work with desktop publishing, and update web pages.
Required Work Experience
Two years of related work experience.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree.
Special Requirements
Reliable transportation for local Austin area travel.
Physical Requirements
Work is routinely performed in an office environment.
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
Salary Range
$51,822 - $64,777
