Will support the maintenance of a safe and supportive learning and work environment through implementation of the College’s discrimination policies and procedures, in compliance with federal and state laws. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in higher education and equal opportunity compliance in a community college setting.Job Description:
Conducts outreach to students and employees regarding allegations of discrimination and/or harassment under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, and the Americans with DisabilitiesAct (ADA)
Assists Operations Coordinator in case intake
Connects individuals with resources, in accordance with the Clery Act and state law requirements
Provides information and resources to pregnant and parenting students
Provides timely updates to the Director regarding the status of cases
Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in the Maxient case management software
Assists with various special assignments, as assigned by the Director
Ensure confidentiality and sensitivity when handling cases, following legal and institutional processes
- Serves as a Campus Security Authority
- Familiarity with the higher education environment
- Conflict resolution
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information
- The ability to work independently and foster a cooperative work environment
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders
- Effectively using interpersonal and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy.
- Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Working with a CRM such as Workday, Maxient or Ellucian Colleague
- At least one year working in an office environment
- Experience in student programming or support
- Demonstrated commitment to civil rights work
- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
