Position Summary
The CSN Department of Mathematics is seeking multiple applicants for full-time, tenure-track faculty to teach college-level mathematics courses.Successful candidates must be adaptable to a flexible schedule across multiple locations/modalities/times, including in-person classes, and have an understanding of the mission and philosophy of a community college. The greatest preference will be given to applicants who provide a well-written cover letter that clearly conveys a passion for teaching while addressing the Preferred Qualifications listed below.
Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing and teaching math and/or applied statistics courses.
Providing academic advising, maintaining records and evaluating student performance.
Participating in college service, including committees, the accreditation process, and program reviews.
Actively engaging in professional development opportunities.
Contributing to the development of a positive image of the college in the community.
Required Qualifications
A master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university. Any qualifying degree must contain at least 18 credits in graduate-level mathematics and/or statistics courses.
Preferred Qualifications
Have experience teaching co-requisite courses, with a focus on liberal arts, business, and STEM pathways, particularly with diverse student populations.
Have a proven ability to leverage technology for teaching math courses in online and remote learning environments.
Possess a deep understanding of current issues and trends in college mathematics education, including the emerging challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
Have a proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Have a demonstrated commitment to professional development and service, proportional with experience.
Starting Salary Range
Initial salary placement is based on educational level and total years of full-time equivalent teaching experience. For example, for an instructor with a Master’s degree, the salary range would be $58,046 to $74,304 annually. The entire salary range is up to $89,166 annually with a Doctorate and 10 years’ experience. A maximum of 10 years of experience will be considered for initial salary placement purposes.
