Job Description

The Program Coordinator & Counselor position is a unique and challenging role that combines the responsibilities of a program coordinator with those of a counselor. In this role, the individual will be responsible for organizing NV Grow-related staff and programs, as well as providing direct counseling to clients.
As a program coordinator, the individual will be responsible for developing and implementing program plans, coordinating training and events, and providing support to staff and clients. This may include tasks such as:
Scheduling and coordinating program activities.
Providing technical assistance to staff and clients.
Evaluating program outcomes and making recommendations for improvement.
Assisting the director of Small Business & Entrepreneurship Development as needed.
As a counselor, the individual will provide direct counseling services to NV Grow clients. This may include tasks such as:
Assessing client needs and developing individualized counseling plans.
Linking clients to resources and support services.
Overseeing the Neoserra customer relationship management (CRM) system.
Representing the organization at public events as requested by the program director.
The individual in this role will also be responsible for using the Neoserra (CRM) system to track client data and provide regular reports to the Director of Small Business & Entrepreneurship Development. This will help to ensure that the NV Grow Program is meeting the needs of its clients and achieving its goals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration, counseling, or human services, or a related field from an accredited college/university; OR equivalent combination of experience and education.
Valid Driver’s License.
3 years of related experience.
Experience coordinating programs.
Experience managing people.
Experience with small business counseling.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience using Workday or similar software.
Proficiency in all MS Office products.
Experience with CRM systems.
Experience working with diverse communities.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college/university.
Experience with budgeting and financial management.
Experience with public speaking and training.
Bilingual or multilingual skills.
Experience using Workday or similar software within NSHE.
Experience working with small businesses in the state of Nevada.

The Program Coordinator & Counselor must work closely with the SBED Director and NV Grow Counselors. In addition to the qualifications listed above, the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities are required to effectively perform the essential functions of the Program Coordinator & Counselor position successfully:
Knowledge of the NV Grow program and its goals and objectives.
Knowledge of the small business and entrepreneurial landscape in Nevada.
Knowledge of the resources and services available to small businesses and entrepreneurs.
Ability to provide culturally competent services.
Ability to work with a diverse population.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to manage stress and work under pressure.
Starting Salary Range
Administrative Faculty C - The starting salary is $68,063.
