Job Description

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Foundation champions philanthropic culture in support of the College of Southern Nevada and community. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the CSN Foundation provides monetary support to the college, its students, and programs. These contributions help create scholarships, develop programs, build infrastructure, and create a campus community where students, faculty and staff can succeed.

The CSN Foundation seeks an energetic professional with a passion for nonprofit excellence. This position will interact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to, all levels of college personnel, students, NSHE Board of Regents members, community leaders and members, members of the business community, members of the CSN Foundation Board of Trustees, and contractors of the CSN Foundation.

The Philanthropy Coordinator performs many non-routine office functions and plays an active role in the coordination and administration of philanthropic events and activities in support of the CSN Foundations mission and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Executive Director’s office. This position reports to the Executive Director of the CSN Foundation.

The Philanthropy Coordinator is a key member of the Foundation team who are focused on providing our donors with the highest level of service in support of their charitable giving. This position is also instrumental in student success through philanthropy and working with community stakeholders who join us in our mission and to help make a meaningful difference for the College of Southern Nevada community and our students.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Acts as the initial point of contact for internal and external constituents on behalf of the Foundation Office. Including, the initial intake of inquiries and routes to appropriate departments/staff for research/resolution as necessary.

  • Responsible for maintaining all foundation records, both electronic and original documents and ensures accuracy of record keeping both historical and current files.

  • Performs multifaceted administrative work in a confidential manner in support to the Executive Director. This support includes scheduling and managing of calendars and correspondence, and scheduling meetings with CSN Foundation Board of Trustees, internal and external constituents, prepares correspondence, meeting agendas, recording, preparing, and distributing minutes as needed.

  • Coordinates all logistical aspects of philanthropic activities, special events, and assists with marketing of events and programs. This includes review and coordination of budgets for events and special projects by performing duties such as reconciling, monitoring, making, and tracking expenditures and preparing budget status reports.

  • A consummate team player with a flexible, collaborative, and creative approach who can empower teammates to contribute their best.

  • Successfully complete projects in a detailed-oriented manner and meet established timelines.

  • Commitment to diversity, multiculturalism, and emotional intelligence.

  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to CSN and CSN Foundation missions.

  • Demonstrate integrity (honesty, trustworthiness, high moral values).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from a regionally accredited college/university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3 years of Philanthropy, Donor Services, or related professional experience.

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of all community college students and employees.

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate the CSN and CSN Foundation missions with stakeholders in person, by phone and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of Nonprofit experience.

  • 1 year of administrative experience.

  • Familiarity and experience working with various social media platforms.

  • Previous experience event planning and/or coordination.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Exceptional organizational skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.

  • Ability to always maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Knowledge of Nevada Open Meeting Law.

  • Knowledge and proficiency in basic web management and social media platforms.

  • Independent decision-making.

  • Knowledge of expenditures.

  • Ability to work with people and coordinate document requests.

  • Make decisions and take actions independently for a variety of diverse situations.

  • Show a high degree of creativity and initiative.

  • Demonstrate integrity (honesty, trustworthiness, high moral values).

Salary information

Administrative Faculty C - The starting salary is $68,063*.

* This position is contingent upon ongoing and available funding.
